Comprehensive Database
[This is a Base Component and is present in all configurations of Galvin].
This is the basic foundation of the system and is where all of the data is stored whether it is entered online by the user or processed through the inbound interface.
Our data structures have been fine-tuned over 18 years to contain both a normalization and content that meets the requirements of supporting the Galvin system and also having high performance.
The database is comprised of these major components:
Item Database: This stores all Item descriptive information as well as the information about what Items are in which Offers. Also maintained here is information about your suppliers and Item/supplier relationships.
Merchandising Database: This contains all of the plans, actuals and forecasts of every stock keeping unit [SKU] in every Offer. Additionally, the On-Hand, On-Order and On-Backorder data is stored here.
Marketing Database: Contains high-level planning information and a fiscally oriented view of plans, actuals and forecasts by fiscal week for every Offer. All Marketing Key Codes, their attributes and the responses from each customer contact are kept here as well.
Purchase Order Database: This stores all open purchase orders and cumulative detailed activity against each order line.
