Item Planning
[This is an Optional Component of Galvin].
This module provides the tools to take the Offer level plans down to the Item [and Color] level.
First, the Assortment Planning function breaks the Offer level numbers down to the merchandise Department level, with the objective being to develop these Department level numbers [a middle ground] before attempting to plan individual Items.
Each Department is then planned down to Item/Color. Several techniques are available to do planning at this level, with the output of this step being a unit plan for the Item in the Offer.
When finalized, these Item level plans are included in the Item Forecasting process.
An optional Group Planning component allows for planning of Items in any combination to each other: all of the items in a spread or photo, missy/petite/women's relationships, coordinated items, etc.
